Galthie strives for French consistency

13 April 2012

Fabien Galthie hopes France show their true colours against Scotland on Saturday.

The scrum-half and captain leads his team into battle in Sydney knowing victory will ensure top spot in Pool B and a quarter-final against either Ireland or Argentina.

To achieve that aim, his side must not suffer the kind of flat period which briefly allowed Japan to close to within a point of them last Saturday.

"I don't know why it happens," Galthie said. "We try to do our best all the time but sometimes we have problems.

"It is not just us. There are many unpredictable teams in the competition."

Scotland's only win over France in their past seven games was in Paris in 1998.
