Arsenal boosted their hopes of a Premier League top-four finish with a 2-0 win at Southampton on Wednesday night courtesy of Alexis Sanchez's 20th league goal of the season and a late effort from Olivier Giroud.

The Gunners beat United 2-0 on Sunday to boost their hopes of Champions League qualification, and secured another win at St Mary's to leapfrog Jose Mourinho's side into fifth place.

The result puts pressure on Liverpool in third place, who slipped up with a goalless draw against Puel's Saints last weekend.

Arsenal have one more game in hand over Liverpool, and another win would take them to within one point of Jurgen Klopp's side with two games left. City, meanwhile, also hold a game in hand over Liverpool and trail the Anfield club by a solitary point.

Chelsea need just one more win to lift the title after beating Middlesbrough 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Tottenham's 1-0 defeat at West Ham on Friday left Antonio Conte's Blues with a golden chance to turn the screw in the title race, and the west Londoners duly did so as Diego Costa, Marcos Alonso and Nemanja Matic goals sealed an easy win.

The result relegated Steve Agnew's Boro in the process, and leaves Conte's side seven points clear of Spurs.

And Chelsea can win the title before Mauricio Pochettino's side even kick a ball, as a victory at West Brom on Friday will confirm a first English title for Conte in his debut season in the Premier League.

Manchester City cruised to a 5-0 victory against Crystal Palace to boost their top four hopes and leave the Eagles looking over their shoulders in the relegation race.

Pep Guardiola's side started as they meant to go on in Saturday's early kick-off, with David Silva back in the starting XI to open the scoring after just two minutes.

Palace threatened on the counter and Christian Benteke dew a fine save from Willy Caballero, but second-half goals from Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi saw City stroll to a comfortable win.

Palace's relegation rivals Hull lost while Swansea beat Everton in the late kick-off to add further pressure to Sam Allardyce.
