Manor Solomon has suffered another blow in a frustrating season after he was forced to undergo minor knee surgery this week.

The 24-year-old has been on the sidelines since the end of September, having suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training that resulted in surgery at the time.

A further procedure has now been required, with no timeframe provided on a potential return for Solomon.

“We can confirm that Manor Solomon underwent minor surgery to his meniscus on his right knee yesterday (Tuesday, 19 March),” Tottenham said in a statement.” “The forward will continue his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”

Solomon joined Spurs in the summer but has played just 198 minutes of Premier League football in his first season in north London.

The winger has not yet scored for the club and that wait has now been extended further, with Solomon taking to Instagram on Tuesday to address what has been a painful five months.

He posted: “Lately I’ve been away from social media and focusing solely on my rehab and getting back on the field. The last period has been the most difficult and frustrating in my career.

“In the past 5 months I’ve been working as hard as possible to get back to doing what I love the most, but unfortunately, I haven’t fully recovered yet. At the same time, I’m full of motivation and will continue to do everything in order to be back stronger than ever to help my club & country.

“Thank you for your support, see you guys soon.”

Tottenham have ten matches remaining this season, as they bid to secure Champions League football. Ange Postecoglou’s side sit fifth in the table, three points behind Aston Villa in fourth but with a game in hand.

It remains to be seen whether Solomon is able to play a part before the end of the campaign, with Postecoglou revealing earlier this month that the club had to consider “other strategies” to get the Israel international back to fitness.

“Yeah, no real progress,” the Spurs boss responded when asked for an update on Solomon.

“He’s still in that position of not being really comfortable where he’s at. So we’ll give him the time he needs to be in the place where he can recover. The medical team is looking at some other strategies now.”
