Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has dismissed reports that claimed he attended Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier with Ukraine last week to scout Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko.

Mourinho was seen looking inconspicuous as he donned a hoody and jacket to attend the match in Kiev, which La Roja won 1-0, before reports suggested the Portuguese coach had travelled to the Ukrainian capital to check on Yarmolenko.

Despite the more apparant reason of having watched the match to stay updated with his Spanish Chelsea stars Cesc Fabregas and Cesar Azpilicueta, Yarmolenko said after the game he had not known about Mourinho's presence in the stands.

With Chelsea currently in Kiev ahead of their Champions League clash with Dynamo on Tuesday, Mourinho has now reiterated he did not travel to the city last week to scout Yarmolenko.

"Of course I wasn’t looking at [other] players," the Chelsea boss said on Monday.

"We cannot make a collection of wingers."

Yarmolenko's future at Dynamo had appeared to be up in the air amid interest from several European clubs recently, but the winger has since signed a new five-year deal that will keep him in Kiev until 2020.

"Here I’ve got everything to make headway as a professional player," he told the club's official website after signing his new contract.

"I’ve become a Ukraine international featuring here. I’ve won all domestic trophies. Dynamo are my family and I’m happy I’m staying here.

"I know that if Dynamo get really worthy offers we’ll find an option that satisfies everyone.

"I want the club to get good compensation for me. I could have left for free in a while, but that would have been wrong."
