Blues and Gunners head live TV table

13 April 2012

Chelsea and Arsenal will be shown live on television more than any of their London Premiership rivals in the first half of next season.

Sky Sports announced the first batch of live games today and they list Chelsea and Arsenal five times, Charlton and Fulham three each and Spurs and West Ham twice each.

Fulham's first match in the Premiership, away to champions Manchester United at Old Trafford, will be live on Sunday 19 August.

Also in the first week Arsenal and Leeds, who finished second and fourth respectively last season, meet live at Highbury on Tuesday 21 August.

Fulham's three televised games are all in the first two months of the season.

As well as the Manchester United game, they also face Charlton at the Valley on Sunday 9 September and Aston Villa away on Sunday 14 October.

Announcing the new live fixtures, the managing director of Sky Sports Vic Wakeling, said: "This is probably London's most fascinating season. What will happen at Arsenal, can Chelsea get a quick return on their recent investments, will Glenn Hoddle make an immediate impact at Spurs, how will new boys Fulham fare, can Charlton have another good season, and will West Ham's youngsters carry them up the table?

"So many questions - so many big games - make London the Premiership's real hot spot in the season ahead."

Today's list represents the start of a new, three-year deal for Sky, under which they will show 66 live Premiership matches a season.
