Rag ‘n’ Bone Man scores fastest-selling male debut album of the decade

Rag ‘n’ Bone Man’s new album has become the fastest-selling male debut of the decade.

The British singer-songwriter, who won this year’s Brit’s Critics’ Choice Award, celebrated massive sales as his album Human went straight in at number one on Friday.

According to the Official Charts Company, the musician – real name Rory Graham – shifted an impressive 117,000 copies of the record since release.

This means that Human is the fastest selling male debut of the decade , beating Ed Sheeran’s + and Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour.

It is also the fastest-selling album of the last 12 months, surpassing the first week numbers of Little Mix and The Rolling Stones.

He said: “A massive thank you for going out and buying my album, streaming it and making it such a success so quickly. It means the world to me. Number 1 album… smash!”

Elbow’s Little Fictions is in the number 2 spot this week, followed by Thunder’s Rip It Up and Nines’ One Foot Out.

The La La Land soundtrack takes the final spot in this week’s top 5, released to coincide with the Oscar-nominated film.

Over in the singles charts, Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You holds on to the number one spot for a sixth week.

Rag ‘n’ Bone Man’s single Human is still at the number two spot, followed by Sheeran’s Castle on the Hill and You Don’t Know Me by Jax Jones Ft Raye.
