Clean Bandit look set to bag this year’s Christmas number one with their hit track Rockabye.

The British electro group are currently leading the race in the midweek charts, followed closely by Little Mix and Rag N Bone Man.

Rockabye, featuring Anne Marie and Sean Paul is 4000 copies ahead of Rag N Bone Man’s Human, having been at the top spot for an impressive six consecutive weeks.

Little Mix’s Touch is a late challenger after a massive surge saw it jump from number 23 to number three in the course of a week.

Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki’s Just Hold On has dropped from number two to number four this week, meaning that it would need a huge spike in sales to reach the number one spot on Friday.

The X Factor winner Matt Terry’s single has also fallen from third position to fifth in the midweeks, making it unlikely for it to bag that top spot.

There has also been a sales boost for London Hospice Choir’s The Living Years, which shot up the chart over the weekend.

Following a fan-led campaign, Manchester band Inspiral Carpets have also sky-rocketed up the charts with Saturn 5, after their drummer Craig Gill tragically passed away last month.

If Clean Bandit manage to claim the coveted Christmas number one spot it will mean that they are just one of a few acts who have managed to cling on to the festive number one after a strong run at the top of the charts.

Over in the album charts, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s Together looks set to bag the number one spot, although it is facing competition from Elvis Presley's The Wonder of You and Little Mix’s Glory Days.
