Emma Bunton has dropped her first musical release in 12 years with new song Baby Please Don’t Stop.

The Sixties-influenced track appeared online on Wednesday, alongside a fun-loving music video.

The promo shows the Spice Girls star, 43, surrounded by family and friends as she danced in front of a screen, and also features behind-the-scenes clips from the shoot in black and white.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the track, admitting they are “obsessed” with the singer’s latest work.

One excited user wrote: “IT’S PERFECT JUST LIKE YOU ILYSM!!!!”

“It’s lovely a little 1960s vibe to it,” another added.

A third commented: “Oh babes I'm obsessed already. The perfect pop song. Welcome home!!!!”

Baby Please Don’t Stop comes ahead of Bunton’s new album My Happy Place, which is set to be released on April 12. Her previous solo album Life in Mono came out in 2006.

Bunton has told of how the album has been inspired by “getting older” adding that her priorities have “changed” and she has become more confident.

She said: “The reason I called the album My Happy Place is because my happy place is with my family, with my friends, listening to music and being in the studio.

“As you get older you feel more confident because actually your priorities change, and my family have become my focus, but this album is like the icing on the cake.”

Last year, Bunton stepped down from the Heart Breakfast show after five years in a bid to concentrate on the upcoming six-date Spice Girls tour.

She previously promised the group’s summer tour will be “carnage” after Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Horner all reunited last year following months of speculation.
