Ariana Grande has had her Twitter account hacked with a series of vile and offensive messages.

The US pop star is the latest celebrity victim of social media hackers, with a number of expletive-laden posts appearing on her official account on Friday.

One inexplicable post read: “GANG B**** F** WIT US GET SHMOKEEDDD.”

Grande quickly regained control of the account and deleted the offending messages, but not before they were seen by her 111 million followers.

Nicki Minaj was even left baffled by the postings, leaving a confused emoji in the comments, only to become a target herself.

“‘F*** u talkin bout u next @nickiminaj,” read the threatening message.

Grande was recently made an honorary citizen on Manchester after raising £3 million for the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

Grande said she was “heartbroken” following the terror attack that killed 22 people and injured more than 100 on May 22.

She returned later that month to meet those affected by the bombing and visit the injured in hospital and to headline the One Love Manchester charity concert.

Some 50,000 people attended Grande’s concert at the Emirates Old Trafford stadium earlier this month which raised funds for the victims and families of those affected by the devastating attack.

Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Liam Gallagher, Miley Cyrus and Take That were among those who performed at the event which Grande wrapped up with a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
