Heart-warming moment man on Waterloo train proposes to girlfriend and whole carriage cheers

This is the heart-warming moment a whole carriage breaks into applause after a man proposes to his girlfriend on a packed train to Waterloo.

Alison Makosz filmed the romantic scene, which took place on the 11.38am train from Weybridge on Saturday.

After the man got down on one knee and popped the question and his wife-to-be said yes, the pair were given a rapturous reception from other travellers who cheered and clapped.

He slipped the ring on her finger and the pair embraced, to joy from the crowd.

“Everybody thank you ever so much for your time,” he told the carriage, to more applause.

“You’ve got to invite us all now,” joked one passenger.

After getting off at Waterloo, South West Trains even arranged for the station announcer to congratulate the happy couple.

Ms Makosz, who had never met the couple before, said: “He was so sweet.

“He is taking her to Winter Wonderland. They were so cute.”
