200 cabbies urge Londoners to vote Leave

Hundreds of taxi drivers want Londoners to vote Leave
20 June 2016

More than 200 black taxi drivers urged voters to back Leave in the referendum on Thursday.

“We believe that to keep London a buzzing city, full of trade and tourism, we must Vote Leave and take back control so we can invest in our country and our future, instead of paying to build roads and bridges in Greece,” they said.

London Black Taxi driver Nicola Beasley said: "The black cab is one of London's most recognised icons and whenever I pick up tourists they always say it's one of the things they love about Britain.

"Britain is a great country and it can be greater still if we get our independence back.

"The only way to do this is to take back control and vote leave on the 23rd of June.'

Richard Patient , Chairman of Vote Leave London, said: "It was wonderful to hear from so many cabbies, who told me most of their conversations with passengers recently have been about the referendum, and mostly about their passengers' disgruntlement with the EU.

"Just like other small business owners and entrepreneurs, London cabbies overwhelmingly want to take back control and that's why they will be voting Leave this Thursday.
