A victim of a violent street attack has made a plea on YouTube to catch her attacker because she claims police are not returning her calls.

Rachel England was hit in the face and the assailant “smashed her head off a car bonnet” in a random attack.

Her boyfriend Andy Wright had pins inserted into his “shattered” right leg after being hurled into a parked car in Streatham.

Ms England appeared on YouTube with a “painful purple eye” and a cut mouth on the posting entitled “Please help me find my attacker.”

Ms England, 27, a journalist, calls herself “a statistic, I’m another victim of violent crime”. It happened on Sunday at about 1.30am in Forster Road.

Mr Wright, a location manager, 29, is recovering in hospital. Ms England said: “He will probably have those rods in his legs for the rest of his life.”

She said: “Somebody did this to us intentionally and left us lying on the road. There’s a dangerous person out there.”

Ms England is concerned the investigation is progressing slowly because she lives in Wandsworth but the offence took place in Lambeth, where borough officers are investigating.

She said: “It seems like the police are having a problem joining things up. I keep ringing them and get told that somebody will be in touch but no one has ever called me back.”

She described the attacker as white, with shaved under cut dark blond hair. Nearly 8,000 people have seen her video.

Following inquiries by the Standard, Ms England said the police contacted her yesterday afternoon. Police today said the attacker was about 28 years old.

Scotland Yard said the case was being investigated by Lambeth CID and “inquiries are ongoing”.
