A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead in north London.
Police officers and paramedics rushed to an address in Upper Holloway on Thursday following reports that a 47-year-old had been discovered lifeless.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, in Dartmouth Park Hill, just before 8pm.
A man, in his 60s, was taken to an east London hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a stable condition.
There have been no arrests but the injured man is being treated as a suspect, Scotland Yard confirmed.
A spokesman added that the pair were known to each other.
The man’s injuries are not believed to be suspicious.
A post-mortem examination took place at the Whittington Hospital on Friday, however, it remains unclear what caused the death.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.
“A post-mortem examination commenced on Friday, 16 December, at the Whittington Hospital Mortuary. A cause of death was not ascertained and officers await the results of further tests.
“Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.”
