Jamie Dornan is about to get hearts (and loins) a-quiver all over again when the second Fifty Shades film is released in cinemas – and he revealed the first instalment had a major effect on some viewers.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Dornan said that the release of the first Fifty Shades of Grey film led to a ‘baby boom’.

One fan even told him about how she became pregnant shortly after the film arrived in 2015.

“There was a bit of a baby boom, which is a lovely thing,” Dornan said.

“I was in a lift and was recognised by this woman who said, ‘Oh my god, you’re Jamie Dornan. For years my husband and I struggled to conceive a baby, we tried IVF and everything but after your movie came out we made a baby naturally’.

“It was so hard to know how to respond!”

Dornan also said that, to relieve the awkwardness in filming the series’ graphic sex scenes, he would conjure up ‘silly noises’ to break the tension.

“There is more sex in the new film and all of us know how awkward sex scenes can be,” he said.

“To make everyone laugh I would make silly noises when I had to climax!”

Fifty Shades Darker is out now in UK cinemas, and once again stars Dornan as S&M enthusiast Christian Grey, who rekindles his unconventional romance with Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele.
