Good Morning Britain presenter Andi Peters jumped out of his skin after encountering a barking dog live on air.

Peters, 45, faced an obstacle course of dangers as he presented a new competition on the breakfast show.

The presenter was walking backwards along a street in Cheltenham as he filmed the new segment, Cash In Your Cornflakes.

While telling viewers how the game works he came close to stumbling over a wheelie bin. Attempting to regain his balance he said: “Wow I just missed that wheelie bin!”

But the danger didn’t stop there for Peters who midway through his presenting jumped into the road after disturbing a huge barking dog.

His voice reached a high pitch as she tried to continue his sentence before attempting to style out the shock with a cough and exclaiming: “Oh my life!”

The incident left his co-stars Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway in fits of laughter.

He later took to Twitter to respond to viewers who were left in hysterics.

He told one user he was in need of a “brandy” before telling another: “Glad you're laughing...I need new pants.”

Peters' on-air ordeal comes days after Rylan Clark-Neal was left panicked after a moth 'attacked' him midway through his showbiz segment on This Morning.

The presenter jumped up and screamed when Holly Willoughby tried to waft the insect away to which a shaken Clark-Neal shouted: "I am being attacked by a moth."
