Comedian Leigh Francis cheekily attempted to photo bomb Charlotte Hawkins at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards.

Francis, 42, stole attention away from the Good Morning Britain anchor as he jumped into shot behind her while she posed for photographers outside Grosvenor House.

The Celebrity Juice host – who was sporting a garish blue suit – pulled a smug grin as he peered over her shoulder.

Hawkins – who looked stunning in a blue off the shoulder lace dress – was joined at the event by her breakfast co-star, and awards host, Kate Garraway who enjoyed a catch up with Coronation Street stars Brooke Vincent, Dean Fagan, Tisha Merry, Katie McGlynn and Colson Smith.

Former soap star Georgia May Foote stepped out with her boyfriend and Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice while I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here stars Jorgie Porter and Vicki Pattison were reunited at the awards bash which honours those in the communications industry for their work across the media.

Bill Turnbull was reunited with his BBC Breakfast team after he was awarded the Best News Presenter gong. On receiving the accoldae he said: "I deserve the award for being the first presenter to say the c-word live on breakfast television."

Carol Kirkwood was also deemed the Best Weather Presenter for the fifth consecutive year.

It was a bumper afternoon of wins for the BBC with Pointless taking home the Best Daytime Programme award, Match of the Day scooping Best Sports Programme and Strictly Come Dancing winning the title of Best Reality Programme.
