Jonathan set to quit Big Brother

Jonathan reveals his plans to the rest of the housemates
5 April 2012

Big Brother contestant Jonathan is expected to quit the show today. The 49-year-old Londoner reduced the normally boisterous housemates to silence and tears yesterday by pouring out his heart about his plans to make his exit.

The self-made millionaire, who runs a media agency, told Big Brother he would sleep on his decision before leaving the house this morning.

Jonathan listed a number of items that he had put on hold or "risked" to join the reality TV show, adding: "I've been so reckless to do this".

He said being in the house had made him realise that he had been looking for acceptance and assured his housemates his decision to go was nothing to do with any of them.

"I feel like I've won Big Brother because I've got something out of it," he added. By the end of his heart-to-heart talk, the usually noisy housemates had been stunned into silence and both Carole and Charley were crying.

Jonathan describes himself on Big Brother's official website as the "luckiest f***** on the planet" and a "lazy git".

Meanwhile, blonde twins Sam and Amanda won a party for themselves and two of their housemates yesterday by "proving" they were telepathic.

Amanda drew a picture of a man with a beard and in a separate room Sam drew a bearded Santa Claus - which was good enough for Big Brother. They chose Nicky and Liam as their party guests - first-choice Chanelle was too ill to come - but had a nasty surprise when they tucked into the food provided.

Big Brother had laid on cheese-flavoured sweets, fish-flavoured milkshakes, and a corned beef-filled birthday cake.

Model Billi, youth health worker Carole and raver Tracey are facing eviction from the Big Brother house tomorrow. Two-faced Charley, 21, escaped yet again, despite her own vote being discounted as punishment for discussing nominations.

Billi, 25, from Middlesex, received seven nominations, while Tracey, 37, and Carole, 53, received four each. Bookies make Billi, a newcomer to the house whose votes were also discounted for discussing the nominations, favourite to get the boot.
