Wimbledon's bad run continues

Wimbledon made it a dismal eight games without a win at Selhurst Park when they were held 1-1 by Portsmouth.

But a goal and another high quality performance from young midfielder Damien Francis gave manager Terry Burton reason to be hopeful for the future.

Burton said: "Last season nobody outside of Selhurst Park had heard of Francis. This season he has scored goals and I believe I have finally found the answer to Robbie Earle's retirement. He is developing into a very good player and is one for the future."

Francis struck five minutes after the break after Steve Claridge had given Portsmouth the lead just before the break.
