John McEnroe is a busy boy during Wimbledon. He's constantly hot footing it between commentary boxes to give fans around the world his expert opinions on SW19.

However, the American took some time out of his busy schedule to treat two unsuspecting fans, Tom Payne and Nick Webb, to a lift to the All England Club yesterday afternoon.

The pair were expecting nothing more than a run-of-the-mill taxi journey, only for the 56-year-old to get behind the wheel and take them for a spin in a Jaguar.

An exclusive chat with the 56-year-old pundit followed, who admitted that he had tipped Great Britain's Andy Murray to emerge victorious before the start of the tournament.

Tom Payne, whose own pick for the men's singles title, Stan Wawrinka, was eliminated after a thrilling clash with Richard Gasquet, could hardly believe his luck.

“I thought I was just coming to Wimbledon to watch the quarter finals and enjoy the atmosphere, but to be driven there in style by the legend John McEnroe was incredible. It was an awesome surprise!” he said.

Meanwhile, given that McEnroe was always bit of a hot head on court, we'd always had him down as a road rage suffer. However, he kept his cool behind the wheel to make his guests' day before returning to his usual media duties.
