Weekend Rugby Focus

Heineken Cup

Wasps v Perpignan
Causeway Stadium, Sunday, 3pm
Tel: 01494 769471
Tickets: £10-£20 (Concs £7-£13)
At least London rugby fans will get a chance to see this match by going to the ground. The decision to put the Cup on Sky may have made commercial sense, but it seems an opportunity missed to take the game to a wider audience after the World Cup. Lawrence Dallaglio and his fellow World Cup winners will want to get on the England bus the day after with another win against the French under their belts.
WASPS DO JOB

Parker Pen Challenge Cup

Montauban v London Irish
Stade Sapiac, Saturday, 7.30pm
Tickets: pay at the gate
The hardest game of these three openers. But the Irish are in good form and can travel to France in expectation rather than hope. IRISH ON TOP

Roma v Saracens
Tre Fontane (Rome), Saturday, 2.30pm
Tickets: 10¤ (available at the gate)
Italy's travails in Australia will be reflected in this competition. They have some good players - some are very good - but just not enough of them.
SARACENS WIN

Dulciora El Salvador v Harlequins
Peperojo (Valladolid), Sunday, 12.30pm
Tickets: 10¤ (available at the gate)
That which applies to Italy also applies to Spain, but more so. Quins could put out their seconds, or extras, and win this . . . and might do so.
EASY FOR QUINS

National League One

Henley v Exeter
Dry Leas, Saturday, 2pm
Tel: 01491 574499
Tickets: £10-£13 (Concs £5-£8)
Two reasonably evenly matched sides. Henley need a lucky break at some point this season and this might be their day.
HENLEY TAKE POINTS

London Welsh v Otley
Old Deer Park, Saturday, 2pm
Tel: 020 8940 2368
Tickets: £10-£14 (Concs £5-£9, accompanied under-15s free)
A tough game for the Exiles against a club who, while never really threatening the top boys, are carrying on a long tradition of solid rugby.
WELSH SUFFER

National League Two

Bracknell v Rosslyn Park
Lily Hill Park, Saturday, 2.15pm
Tel: 01344 424013
Tickets: £7 (Concs £5)
Bracknell enjoyed a superb win over top side Sedgley Park, which rather put Rosslyn Park's points spree against no-hopers Lydney in perspective.
BRACKNELL KEEP IT UP

Nuneaton v Esher
Liberty Way, Saturday, 3pm
Tel: 024 76383206.
Tickets: £7
Hard to think of much to encourage Esher this year. Another long, wearying trip seems the order of the day.
