Huddersfield have signed Bradford's up-and-coming centre or back row forward Joe Wardle on a three-year deal.

The 19-year-old made his Super League debut this year for the Bulls but rejected the offer of a new contract in favour of a move to the Giants, who have paid an undisclosed transfer fee.

"I had a great start to my career at the Bulls and thank them for bringing me to this point," he said. "I felt though when I weighed all my options up that the opportunity to work under Nathan Brown and his staff can further advance my career to the next level."

Huddersfield coach Brown said: "Joe has good potential and I am looking forward to working with him in the pre-season.

"We have a number of young outside backs who will get opportunities next year and Joe will be an enthusiastic fresh face for us to work with and develop as a player for the future."
