New Zealand were 75 for five when rain stopped play in the second one-day final against South Africa in Sydney. Lou Vincent scored 43 off 42 balls.

A thunderstorm had already caused the game to be reduced to 46 overs a side.

South Africa won the first of three finals by eight wickets.
