Veteran Cole returns to his Forest roots and fulfills a promise to his late grandfather

13 April 2012

Andy Cole completed his return to hometown club Nottingham Forest yesterday and kept a promise to his late grandfather.

Cole, 36, who also had offers from Norwich and Leeds, said: 'I promised my grandfather that I would come and play for Forest at some stage.

'I had other options and could have earned more money, but this is the one where I can finally do it for myself, people who have supported me, my grandfather who is no longer with me and a good friend who is no longer with me.'
