Venter's stars under wraps

London Irish have decided not to risk any of their senior squad in the Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham on Saturday to avoid the risk of injury.

Last year the Irish lost scrum- half Junior Tonu'u with a broken finger and he was unable to play in the first third of the Zurich Premiership programme as a result.

Brendan Venter, the South African who is the new player coach at the Irish, wants to take a full squad to the preseason match against Munster in Cork next Tuesday, and has sent a team of young academy professionals to Twickenham.
