Tigers keen on Hernandez

12 April 2012

World Cup star Juan Martin Hernandez could be set to join Marcelo Loffreda at Leicester after the club's new head coach signalled his desire to sign the fly-half.

The 25-year-old Hernandez, who helped Argentina finish third in France under the guidance of Loffreda, currently plays for Stade Francais.

However, Loffreda is eager to bring him to Welford Road, telling the Daily Express: "I would like him to be here, but there are different things that don't make that possible at the moment. He has one-and-a-half years left on his contract - but, well, who knows?"

Tigers chairman Peter Tom added: "We are always associated with world-class players and, with Marcelo joining us and the success in the World Cup, there was always going to be lots of speculation."
