Tendulkar falls six short in record bid

14 April 2012

Sachin Tendulakr today narrowly failed in his bid to become sole record holder of the most Test centuries.

Tendulkar was out for 94 in Mohali as he tried to improve on the record of 34 tons, which he shares with another Indian great, Sunil Gavaskar. After his dismissal the home side reached 447 for six by the close of day three of the First Test against Pakistan, 135 ahead.

Tendulkar's record attempt overshadowed Virender Sehwag, who hit 19 fours and two sixes in his 173 off 244 balls. Rahul Dravid weighed in with 50.
