Swann ready for India challenge

England spinner Graeme Swann cannot wait to attempt to silence the home crowd when England face India at Bangalore's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

Swann began his World Cup campaign with a commendable two for 35 in a distinctly patchy team performance in the opening Group B win over Holland in Nagpur and is eager for the challenge that awaits England facing tournament favourites India.

"The fact it's against India in India is going to make it a huge game," he predicts. "There is nothing better than silencing an Indian crowd. You don't want them to be screaming all day, because its ear-shattering."

He added: "We will need to raise our standards, particularly in the field - because let's face it, we were like a bunch of schoolboys (against Holland)."

England do not mind being second-favourites, and Swann is confident they have some tricks up their sleeve to trouble India's finest.

Asked about how to stop Virender Sehwag's punishing strokeplay, for example, he said: "We've got our gameplans and we know how we're going to bowl at him, but I'm not going to tell the press and give him a heads-up.

"We've just get him out in the first couple of overs, and there's no problem - same as anyone.

"Of course, we'll be underdogs to the Indian public - because they'll believe that their team can win every game."
