Styris gives Kiwis hope

Scott Styris and Chris Cairns came to New Zealand's rescue with a fifth-wicket stand of 91 in the first one-day cricket international against South Africa in Auckland.

Styris scored 60 and Cairns made 58 but the home side's final total of 225 for eight looked within easy reach. South African skipper Graeme Smith and Herschelle Gibbs shared an opening partnership of 86 in 19 overs.
