Brazil's men's football team can still complete their trophy collection after victory in the quarter-final at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The hosts of the Games have won every competition on offer in their rich history, but no Selecao side has ever won gold - a situation that Barcelona star Neymar is keen to change.

Brazil were humbled 7-1 by Germany when they hosted the 2014 World Cup, and glory in Rio would go a long way to healing the wounds of supporters still shocked by that painful defeat.

Indeed, Neymar and team-mates can exact revenge on the Germans in Saturday's gold medal match after booking their place in the showpieve with a thumping 6-0 victory over Honduras.

Women's football enjoyed huge success at the London 2012 Games, and Germany are going for double football gold after setting up a final with Sweden.

Why are Team GB not playing?

Team GB are not competing at Rio due to a lack of support from the Home Nations.

The FA was keen on sending a team to Brazil to promote youth development and increase the tournament experience of younger players following Team GB's appearance at the London 2012 Olympics.

However, the FA formally withdrew its proposal last year after the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish FA rejected the proposals, with Fifa also confirming it would block any entry without full approval from each British association.
