Joe Marler has been handed 10-week ban for grabbing Alun Wyn Jones’ genitals in last Saturday’s Six Nations clash at Twickenham.

Manu Tuilagi has been handed a four-week for the red card tackle on George North during England’s 33-30 win over Wales.

Lock Courtney Lawes was cited for a dangerous tackle - also on Jones - but was cleared following an independent disciplinary committee hearing in Dublin.

Marler accepted he committed an act of foul play but contested the citing that he "grabbed, twisted or squeezed the genitals" of an opponent.

This was dismissed by the committee, who deemed the offence worthy of a red card.

Marler was banned for 12 weeks with the ban then reduced by three due to mitigating factors. Another week was added however on account of the Harlequins prop's recent disciplinary record.

Tuilagi was sent off in the 75th minute of the game for a no-arms tackle on North.

Lawes' appeal was successful however, arguing his challenge on Jones was not worthy of a red card.
