Danny Care 'incredibly proud' after signing new two-year Harlequins deal

Danny Care has signed a new two-year deal with Harlequins.

Care, who is England's most-capped scrum-half, has been with Quins since 2006 and has made more than 250 appearances for the club.

The 32-year-old said: “I’m delighted and incredibly proud to have signed for two more years with the club that I love.

“I’ve had 13 amazing years here and I can’t wait to see what the next few will hold. I believe that the club is in a great place and we’re all working as hard as we can to get hold of some silverware soon.”

Care may be out of Eddie Jones’s England squad, but he is enjoying a fantastic season with Quins. He has scored five tries and head of rugby Paul Gustard is thrilled he has agreed to extend his stay.

“Danny epitomises all that is good about Harlequins and I know everyone at the club joins me in congratulating him on his new contract,” he said.

“There are very few players in the world who have his talent allied to his level of consistency.”

As well as Care, Quins have also tied down back-row forward Jack Clifford and wing Gabriel Ibitoye to new contracts.

Ibitoye, 20, has trained with the full England squad, while Clifford, 25, has returned from a number of injuries to force himself back into Jones’s plans.
