Alex Goode has become the latest player to commit his long-term future to Saracens but leave on loan for the club’s season in the Championship.

Goode will head to NEC Green Rockets in Japan’s Top League at the conclusion of Saracens’ season in October, spending a year there while the North Londoners are in the Championship due to salary cap breaches.

Long-serving full-back Goode joins George Kruis, who has signed a one-year deal with Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan, while Alex Lozowski, Nick Isiekwe, Ben Earl and Max Malins have all left the club on loan.

Saracens Director of Rugby was glowing in his praise of Goode.

“Alex Goode is one of the most gifted players of his generation,” he said. “To watch him play is to be reminded of the subtle, skilful and intangible aspects that encapsulate great rugby performances. His balance on the run, bravery in the air and execution under pressure have often made the difference in the club’s biggest moments.”
