Rival from Spain is a pain for Safin

Marat Safin lost to Feliciano Lopez of Spain 7-6, 6-3 today in the second round of the Olympic tennis tournament.

The ninth-seeded Russian lost in the first round at Sydney in 2000. Lopez, ranked 32nd, will meet No8 seed Sebastien Grosjean of France or Wayne Arthurs of Australia.

Meanwhile, Justine Henin-Hardenne, who has been out for 11 weeks with a virus, reached the third round with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Venezuela's Maria Vento-Kabchi.

The Belgian now plays Nicole Pratt of Australia who fought back to beat Italy's Tathiana Garbin 1-6, 7-6, 6-2.
