Playing is answer to Becks' prayers

14 April 2012

David Beckham has admitted he can't wait for his high-profile summer to draw to a close so he can concentrate on playing football again.

The England captain is in South East Asia where new club Real Madrid play China Dragons in a friendly on Saturday - his first match for more than two months. He said: "All I'm thinking about now is playing football.

"This summer has been very busy for different commercial reasons, but all I want to do now is get back to playing."

He admitted his priority was Madrid's first home game on 20 August against Real Mallorca.

Beckham said: "I am very motivated by that game. All I am thinking of is the day I put my shirt on in the home ground. It is a dream that is constantly in my mind."
