Phase one fantasy winners!

Evening Standard14 April 2012

Congratulations to the winner and runner-up of Game Phase One of our Fantasy Euro 2004 competition.

The lucky winner - scooping a first prize of £2000 in cash - is builder/estimator Kevan Brayshaw with his battle-hardened squad - the Woolie Woofters. And in second place, student Chris Hoyle and his team Just a Dream - take the £500 runner-up prize.

Kevan, 42, from Dukinfield, Cheshire, said he was disappointed to see England lose to France in their opening group game, but is predicting the two teams will meet again in the final.

Full-time student Chris, 21, from Pershore, Worcestershire, is a bit of an old hand at fantasy teams after winning a similar competition during the 1998 World Cup in France.

Speaking of France, Chris has also backed Les Bleus for the tournament and, given his track record, he may well be right.

Don't forget - it's not too late to enter our fantasy game and win some fantastic cash prizes plus a trip to New York.

For just £5 you can register your team and pit your wits against the greatest thinking minds not at Euro 2004.
