Parker happy with responsibility

13 April 2012

Scott Parker says he is happy to shoulder the responsibility for turning Charlton's season around.

The 22-year-old midfielder has not played this season because of an ankle injury picked up in a friendly last August and Alan Curbishley's team are only one place off the bottom of the Premiership.

But Parker made his comeback in the reserves last week and hopes to be fit to play against Middlesbrough at The Valley on Sunday.

He said: "I'm excited to be back and if the supporters feel I could be the man to turn the season around then I have got to be pleased with that. Compared to two years ago, when I had to go on loan to Norwich to get some first-team football, it has been a massive change around."
