Owen leaves United woe behind

12 April 2012

Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves is determined to block out the disappointment of not signing for Manchester United and will concentrate on keeping his place in the England side.

Hargreaves had his heart set on playing at the same venue on a regular basis for the Red Devils only for Bayern to dig their heels in and insist he stays in Germany. Now Hargreaves is looking forward rather than back and will have to wait until at least January before any possible move to United can be reactivated.

He said: "The topic of the transfer has been and gone. There is nothing really to say. I've tried to block out the saga of the last few weeks and concentrate on playing football. That's my job. There was a lot of talk but a deal didn't happen and that's the way it is. Could there be a possible move in January? God knows. It is not down to me."
