McLaren pledge to get Jenson Button buzzing

McLaren chief Martin Whitmarsh says the onus is on the team to get Jenson Button out of his slump.

The Briton was 16th at Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix and is now 43 points adrift of championship leader, team-mate Lewis Hamilton, after picking up just two points in his last four races.

Whitmarsh said: “Jenson is a super-smooth driver and we just didn’t give him a car he could do it with. We have to get it right.”
