No fear factor for Lee Westwood

Open rivalry: Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood congratulate each other
David Smith13 April 2012

Lee Westwood has vowed to look into the eyes of the Tiger and not blink when he goes head-to head with the world No1 over the first two rounds of The Open.

Westwood, Tiger Woods and teenage Japanese sensation Ryo Ishikawa are the marquee grouping at Turnberry.

And Westwood knows Woods will be looking to impose himself right from the start. The former European No1: "A lot of people have been intimidated by playing with Tiger but I'd like to think I'm experienced enough that I can focus on my own game, just enjoy the experience and try to get into contention.

"You know at the start of the week that Tiger will be there or there-abouts come Sunday, so what better place to keep an eye on him than actually playing with him?

"I'm feeling confident and all aspects of my game are good."
