Leicester Tigers back row Craig Newby has been cleared to play in Saturday's Guinness Premiership final following a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel hearing.

The 30-year-old was cited for a dangerous tackle on Bath's Butch James during the Tigers' 15-6 semi-final win on May 16.

The charge was dismissed at Tuesday night's disciplinary panel hearing to allow the former New Zealand international to take his place in Saturday's final against Saracens at Twickenham.
