Morgan in fitness race

14 April 2012

Lionel Morgan is in a race against time to be fit for Wimbledon's first match in Milton Keynes on Saturday.

The England Under-20 international missed the 4-1 defeat at Ipswich with a recurrence of a knee injury which has limited him to just two appearances this season. But Morgan was back in training this week, and Dons boss Stuart Murdoch remains optimistic he will make the squad to face Burnley at the National Hockey Stadium.

He said: "We felt it best for Lionel not to play last weekend. But he needs to be in the team for his own well-being because he's been out for a long time."
