Mark tips shock for final spot

Mark McGhee believes a First Division club will reach the FA Cup Final this season.

Millwall face a home tie against Norwich in the fifth round if they beat Southampton in next week's replay and their manager thinks they have a good chance of seizing FA Cup glory.

McGhee said: "I said to the players before the Southampton game that I'd a funny feeling a First Division club could reach the final this season. That looks even more likely now, as two of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Leeds will not reach the quarter finals.

"A First Division club could get to the final without having to face Premiership opposition. Obviously I'd like that to be us and would love us to make a blind-side run to the final."

Millwall required a replay to get past Cambridge United in the third round and McGhee is urging caution.

He said: "Let's not get too carried away. We were very careful after the first Cambridge game not to get too excited and the same applies now.

"But it's a great draw for us. Norwich will also think it's not impossible to reach the last eight and Gordon Strachan will be delighted. Whoever wins has a great chance of reaching the quarter-finals."

McGhee is now urging the fans to turn out in force for next week's replay. Attendances at The Den have been down by 30 per cent this season following the introduction of a membership scheme. He said: "If we get a good atmosphere then it could make all the difference."

Steve Claridge gave Millwall the lead on Saturday but the game ended 1-1 after Kevin Davies, who scored three goals for Millwall in a loan spell earlier this season, equalised in the 89th minute.
