Manchester United will be running scared after losing to Chelsea, claims Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o

14 April 2012

Samuel Eto'o believes Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League will work in Barcelona's favour ahead of their Champions League showdown at Old Trafford tonight.

United have seen their preparations for the second leg of the semi-final disrupted by the fall-out from their pitch battle at Stamford Bridge following the 2-1 defeat on Saturday which means the title race is set to go down to the wire.

But striker Eto, 27, says Barca are now poised to deliver another shattering blow to United's chances of winning the European Cup by knocking them out of the Champions League.

Confident: Samuel Eto'o (left) reckons United will be nervous of conceding an away goal

He believes Sir Alex Ferguson's side will be nervous of conceding an away goal and claims they will unable to score twice on what proposes to be a dramatic night of football.

"We have the players and the talent to win in any stadium and I'm convinced that if we play like we did at the Nou Camp in the first leg, it will be impossible for us to fail to reach the final," Eto'o told the Daily Mirror.

"La Liga has gone for us and United will be damaged by their defeat at Chelsea, which is only positive for us.

"But more importantly, United know that if we score then they have to score twice - and I think that will be impossible for them. It will make them nervous every time we go forward."
