Levy hits back at critics

Spurs struggle: Tottenham's for has dipped alarmingly

Daniel Levy today told Tottenham fans they must wait for answers and criticised their public outburst as damaging to the club.

Spurs chairman Levy was responding to a letter from the Tottenham Trust outlining their unhappiness over the search for a boss to replace Glenn Hoddle, who was sacked last September, and the role of acting manager David Pleat.

Levy said: "I have publicly stated the case on the timing of the announcement of a new manager and I have nothing further to say on this. Mr Pleat has not been an issue with prospective managers.

I feel there is little appreciation shown for the difficult nature of certain issues.

"Furthermore, the letter has led to adverse media comment, the publicity of which is damaging to the club and counter-productive."
