Kluivert loan talks

14 April 2012

Newcastle are to hold fresh talks with Barcelona about signing Patrick Kluivert.

According to reports in Spain, even though the Dutch striker is available on a free transfer, the Premiership club would prefer a year-long loan with an option for a permanent deal.

Kluivert earns around £80,000 a week and Newcastle are said to be suggesting they split his wages 50-50 with Barcelona.

Kluivert’s agent Paul Foortse said: “Newcastle are the club he wants to join. There is other interest in him, in England and elsewhere, but if he has a choice it is simple: he will choose Newcastle.”
