Kaka is urging Milan to make move for Steven Gerrard

13 April 2012

Kaka has urged AC Milan to try to sign Steven Gerrard, despite the midfielder agreeing a new contract with Liverpool just two weeks ago.

Gerrard signed a two-year extension to his current contract, tying him to the Anfield club until 2013.

But that has not stopped Kaka from making a plea to his bosses to sign the Liverpool skipper.

The Brazilian playmaker, who almost joined Manchester City for a world record fee in January, said: "A cycle is ending. The time has arrived to re-energise a group which has many players at the end of their contracts.

"If it was up to me, I would take someone like Gerrard, who for me is a complete player and can play anywhere. I could see him fitting in really well at Milan."

Gerrard missed his side's Champions League clash with Chelsea in midweek with a groin injury and Liverpool will be hoping he recovers in time for a vital game with Arsenal on Tuesday.
