Inter dismiss Drogba links

12 April 2012

Inter Milan sporting director Marco Branca insists the club are not interested in signing Chelsea's Didier Drogba in January.

Speculation over a possible move to Serie A leaders Inter - and a reunion with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho - intensified last month when Drogba allegedly met Branca in a London restaurant.

But Branca is adamant the 30-year-old will not be moving to the San Siro when the transfer window reopens in the new year. "There's no Drogba dream. Inter already have numerous strikers that cover every role," he said on the club's official website.

"Drogba has been at Chelsea for many years and is doing well there. We have our strikers that are also doing well here.

"It is just media speculation."

Ivory Coast international Drogba has struggled with injury and disciplinary issues this season and has been forced to play second fiddle to Nicolas Anelka at Stamford Bridge.
