Holland gives fans heart

Saturday's 1-1 draw with Welling was followed last night by another 1-1 draw at Colchester.

Manager Alan Curbishley made 10 substitutions and gave a debut to midfielder Lloyd Sam. Jonatan Johansson scored Charlton's 12thminute equaliser after they had gone behind to a Tony Boot goal.

But Holland, a £750,000 signing from Ipswich, said: "We would have liked to have done better but it is still very early in our pre-season."
