Hernandez thrilled with United deal

Manchester United new boy Javier Hernandez feels he is "living the dream" after passing a medical with the club.

Although United have yet to secure a work permit for the 21-year-old Mexico international, it is expected they will eventually force it through in time for Hernandez to join them after the World Cup. For the player, who has spent just two seasons in the first team at Chivas and scored four goals in his four international appearances so far, it represents a meteoric rise to prominence.

"I feel like I am living a dream," he told MUTV. "All the impressions I have of the club are good and Sir Alex Ferguson is a great person, maybe the best coach in the world."

Hernandez was at Old Trafford on Wednesday night to watch the Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich.

While he was disappointed at the outcome, he marvelled at the atmosphere, which he hopes to experience for himself next term.

Before that, Hernandez must secure a place in Mexico's World Cup squad, which he is tipped to do.

And that will confirm a quick return to England as Mexico will tackle Fabio Capello's men at Wembley on May 24.

"I hope to be at the World Cup," he said. "I have to work hard to win a place in the national team, then I might get a chance to play against England."
