Hatton: Return may be one-off

Ricky Hatton admits his return to the ring may be a one-off after confirming he will lace up the gloves again.

The popular Manchester 'Hitman', who admitted to Press Association Sport back in September he expected to continue his career, confirmed he will have at least one more bout before calling it a day.

"There's been no opponent that has been confirmed yet. There's been no date confirmed yet. But the point is I have made my mind up I am going to have one more fight," the two-weight world champion told Hatton TV.

The 31-year-old has not boxed since losing in two rounds to Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas last May but insists he will fight "a top-10 ranked pound-for-pound fighter or a world champion of some sort" this summer.

He added: "I've decided to make a comeback and have another fight this year - probably round about the summer time.

"I've had a good break, a good time off, a good time to reflect and put that last fight behind me and really get over it and get my mind straight."

Possible opponents include Juan Manuel Marquez and Amir Khan but Hatton himself suggested a rematch with Colombian IBF light-welterweight champion Juan Urango - whom he beat in 2007 - is a consideration.

Press Association Sport understands there is a strong possibility Hatton's return could be staged in England, though a showdown with Khan remains unlikely while he is promoted by Frank Warren.

"We're looking at the IBF champion Juan Urango, who I've already fought and beaten," Hatton said.

"It's got to be a top-10 ranked pound-for-pound fighter or a world champion of some sort."
